Cheryl Abbot, Founder and Principal of Bloom Financial, since 2014. Cheryl has been working in the financial industry since 1996, primarily working in accounting and tax auditing. Her natural inclination to help her friends and family with financial matters has led her to pursue a career as a self-employed financial advisor. She loves to see her clients meeting their financial goals. Her extensive experience with compliance and tax, makes sure everything is done right.
Her practice revolves around developing a solid, long-term working relationship with her clients by growing, protecting and preserving their wealth and minimizing their taxes. She achieves this through face-to-face and virtual client meetings with clear communication and prompt, professional service, from both her and her staff. She values the fact that her clients feel comfortable from the first meeting and refer their family and friends because they know they will receive the same excellent treatment and advice.
Cheryl graduated with her CGA in 2002 and became a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) in 2015. In 2014, she left the accounting profession, achieved her Mutual Funds Licence and Life Insurance License (LLQP) and opened the doors of Bloom Financial.
Cheryl grew up in Langley, BC, and currently lives there with her husband and two sons. Cheryl enjoys knitting, CrossFit, watching her sons' sports and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Anyone who knows Cheryl knows that her dogs come first.

Catherine has a long history in the financial services industry. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Guelph and an Accounting Diploma from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She has worked in the Credit Union system as a front-line client service representative as well as in back-office administration at the corporate office. During this tenure she also studied to become accredited as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and then worked as a CFP for many years.
From the Credit Union she moved to a smaller private investing and lending firm where she was the sole administrator. This involved daily communication and follow up with clients as well as lawyers, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), securities commissions, and the lending division. When this company wound up its operations Catherine tried retirement.
Catherine came out of retirement to take the part-time assistant to the advisor position as she realized that she still relished the opportunity to be of help in the financial services industry. Her education and experience are now contributing to the successful management of the client investment accounts at Bloom Financial.
Away from work, Catherine enjoys social dancing of any description. She also loves going for daily walks with her dog Holly at one of the many trails in Surrey, Langley and beyond.
If you call the office, it will be Catherine's voice answering the phone. She will ensure you get the help you need.
